There’s a vacuum for every kind of person on sale for October Prime Day, whether you’re looking for a handheld option for smaller messes or a wet-dry vacuum for homes with spill-prone children. If you’re looking for a cordless option, you can’t go wrong with one of the many Dysons that are on sale. As a Roomba owner, I’d suggest you check out one of the many robot vacuums on sale; it makes life a lot easier when you don’t have to any of the heavy lifting. And as the owner of some very hairy cats, I’m also enticed by the Bissell carpet and upholstery cleaner, which was has been one of the most popular products with Strategist readers during this year’s October Prime Day.

If you’re in the market for a pricey kitchen appliance, now is the time to find some really good deals. One of our best blenders, the Vitamix 5200, has been the most popular purchase with Strategist readers during this October Prime Day. I tend to dig around the pantry section on Prime Day, and I spotted some of my favorite items, like Fly by Jing’s chili crisp and Poppi’s low-sugar soda, on sale.

One of last Prime Day’s best sellers, the Trtl travel pillow, is on sale again for the best price I’ve seen in months. For short trips, our best (less expensive) weekend bag is 35 percent off.

Now is the best time to stock up on the “unsexy stuff” like hand soap, trash bags, and toilet paper.

The Prime Day beauty deals are vast, so we’ve had to break them out into separate categories, starting with skin care. Most of these deals are under $25, like the snail-mucin essence that our readers (and TikTok) are obsessed with, as is our best inexpensive eye cream. And if you’ve had your eye on the face-sculpting NūFace (that several Strategists staffers own and swear by), now’s your chance to snag it at a discount.

My fellow Strategist staffers convinced me to buy several things on this list, starting with the famous Revlon hairbrush blow-dryer. I haven’t owned a hair dryer in years, but I’ve found it so easy to use, and it makes my hair look like I stepped out of the salon. I also nabbed the hyped Klorane dry shampoo — after being a staunch dry-shampoo hater for years — and was shocked at how soft and non-icky it felt in my hair. My next spend will most likely be a value set from Monday, which makes some of our favorite (inexpensive) shampoo for fine hair.

Plenty of our favorite drugstore makeup is on sale, including Maybelline’s TikTok-famous mascara. I’ve been on the hunt for a new makeup primer, and have heard that Milk Makeup’s Hydro Grip Primer creates a supersmooth base. And as much as we all love the Laneige lip mask, the brand’s glowy lip balm is a great alternative for a daytime look.

Strategist readers love to stock up on teeth-whitening strips, electric toothbrushes, and water flossers every Prime Day. I can’t blame them, as pretty much every product from our best-in-class roundups is the cheapest they’ll be all year. I encourage you to make some less-fun purchases in this section, too: Ritual’s multivitamins are excellent, and Touchland’s hand sanitizer actually makes a great gift. (My brother’s girlfriend gave me one last Christmas, which I cherish.)

October Prime Day has been marketed as the shopping event for toys and holiday gifts — and that’s true because the best (and biggest) section by far is the kids’ section. Every single Amazon device is on sale, so I’ve included only the best of the best below. I threatened to buy a Kindle during July’s Prime Day but totally blanked and have been waiting ever since — most likely the kids’ Paperwhite, which is identical to the regular Paperwhite in every other way except that it comes with a cute cover.

You can often find brand-name labels on sale for Prime Day — like New Balance and Calvin Klein — but don’t sleep on Amazon’s in-house fashion brands, which are up to 60 percent off. Right now, the deals on Levi’s are particularly good, with several of our favorite styles available under $50. We also spotted the Orolay coat on sale, which our features editor Katy Schneider first wrote about over five years ago.

Once again, you’ll find most of the deals are on basics like underwear and T-shirt multipacks. Adidas sweatpants were recommended several times in our guide to the best loungewear for men, and I spotted a nice-looking pair on sale.

There’s plenty of gear for workout recovery on sale, including the hyped Theragun and our best overall foam roller. There are also plenty of our favorite protein and electrolyte powders on sale, too. And if you’ve got the floor space, now would be a good time to save a couple hundred dollars on fitness equipment.

All the gear you’ll need to give your little one a fine-dining experience is on sale, including Lalo’s trendy high chair and the bento-box-inspired lunch box that was a hit with Strategist readers last Prime Day. There are plenty of Strategist-approved baby-care products on sale, like an excellent wearable breast pump.

The pet deals aren’t as robust as some of the other categories, but there are still some well-reviewed products on sale, like the hyped ChomChom pet-hair remover and the tiny camera one Strategist contributor says is actually worth it.
